Our products are unique pieces of art that have taken a great deal of planning.  Each of our products is handcrafted bringing you a unique, one-of-a-kind piece.

Most of our products are created from cast-away, salvaged or pre-used glass and other materials.  Glass imperfections, scuffing and scratch marks may be visible.  Timber nail holes, rust marks and weathered discolouring will be evident.  All value-added items are hand applied or crafted and may detach or discolour over time. Artwork variations will be evident as each piece of glass is unique.  Glass selections are subject to glass availability, size, colour and cutting compatibility.  Reproduction of an identical piece is seldom achieved.

All sand-etched artwork is created digitally by Othene Cole.  Select pieces of artwork are obtained digitally through Licenced Subscription and in every instance, each piece requires recreation to meet sandblasting criteria and to be unique to Treehouse Craft Shed.

Most of our timber bases, lids and accessories are handcrafted from salvaged timber, Bamboo or Hevea.  All salvaged timber has been selected by our creative partner, Diverse Design Works, from salvage depots and wineries across South Australia.  All timber has been oil-treated or prepared accordingly for the creating of new products.  Although every effort has been made to reduce the cracking of natural timber - cracking, expansion or contraction may occur in dry or wet conditions.  Gently wipe timber with a food-grade oil to maintain your products lustre and longevity.

From time to time Diverse Design Works make use of locally sourced suppliers of finished timber products.

All artwork has been created by Othene Cole.  Each piece is unique and seldom are we able to replicate a piece of art.  We protect our artwork with either resin or artists varnish.

Some products are colour filled.  These products are NOT dishwasher safe.  Clean by using a lukewarm solution of soapy water or a clean damp soft cloth to gently wipe clean.

Decorative Sand-etched (Sandblasted) products will show fingerprints when handled.  Gently wash finger marks, grease, and wax off your product by using a lukewarm solution of soapy water or a light spray of good quality glass cleaner with soft lint-free glass cloth.

Lift all Candleholders by the base to replace tea-light candles.  Use tea-light candles only. Do not place tea-light candles near the sides of the glass as this may cause cracking.

Soy Candles

We use Orchid Wax which is a high-quality soy-based wax.  It is Paraffin free, kosher certified and 100% vegan.

Burn times will vary based on the size of the container.

  • Hand-poured in Adelaide, South Australia

  • Reusable jar vessels.  Wash out with boiling water when your candle has reached the end of its life-cycle

  • Repurpose within your home or we will refill your jar with an available scent of your choice

  • Our lids protect your candle from dust and dirt when not in use

Care and Safety

  • Burn your candle for at least 2 hours the first time you light it.  Candles have a burn memory.  This will prevent 'tunnelling' and make your candle last longer

  • Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at any one time

  • Trim your candle wick to 5mm every time you use it.  Trimming the wick allows the flame to have a clearer and brighter burn.

  • Never leave candles unattended

  • Never leave candles with pets or children

Fragrance Diffusers

  • Our fragrance diffusers have been crafted from Reclaimed Ginger Beer Bottles which have been collected by Treehouse Craft Shed over time in Adelaide.

  • Diffusing times vary between 4 – 6 months subject to the number of reed sticks used and room conditions.

  • Each piece has been hand-poured with premium-quality reed diffuser oil and premium-grade fragrance oils in Adelaide, South Australia.

  • Premium reed diffuser oil is eco-friendly and biodegradable. Its low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) makes it safe to use and environmentally friendly.

  • Cork inserts have been hand-machined by Treehouse Craft Shed in Adelaide.

  • Labels have been designed, sandcarved and hand-painted by Treehouse Craft Shed in Adelaide.

  • Once the fragrance diffuser has reached the end of its life, rinse with a light solution of hot soapy water and repurpose your bottle as you desire.  Hand-painted labels should be hand washed only.  Reeds may be disposed of in the green waste bin.

  • Reeds are made from natural fibres. To release a new burst of scent simply flip the reeds over.

  • We are 100% South Australian Made and Owned

  • Keep out of reach of children and pets

  • Place on a flat, even surface safe from being knocked over

  • Although premium oil has low evaporation rates, it is recommended that your diffuser is kept away from direct sunlight.  This will maintain the longevity of your product

  • Spilt diffuser oil will damage benchtops. Wipe away any spillage or droplets immediately. Do not allow liquid to come in prolonged contact with any surfaces. Keep away from wood and plastic surfaces.

New diffuser set-up

  1. Remove the cork by twisting slowly upwards (like a corkscrew).  Should the cork be too tight, use a corkscrew to extract the cork.

  2. Untie the reed sticks and place them in the bottle's oil.  Allow them to absorb for one hour.

  3. After the hour, carefully flip the reeds upside down (recommended to do so over a sink or use paper towel) and place back into the bottle.  This will saturate the top part of the reeds which will help speed up the process of the oil soaking up through the entire reed. Within ± 24 hours, you can expect to have a light fragrance linger in the air.

  4. It is recommended to place a coaster or similar underneath your bottle to prevent any possible ring stains from droplets of oil.

Number of reeds

For small rooms, you may use fewer reeds than is provided.  This will produce a more delicate fragrance.  For larger open plan areas, you may wish to use all the reeds provided as this will provide a stronger fragrance.  Keep in mind, more reeds mean faster diffusion.

Wood and concrete surfaces are porous.  Oil may trickle down the side of the bottle when flipped over.  Hence, it is recommended that you place your diffuser on a coaster or similar to prevent permanent ring staining.  Should you be unsure, use a coaster.

Diffuser lifespan

Our ginger beer bottle diffusers can last between 4 - 6 months.  Diffuser lifespan is subject to surrounding conditions and several factors affecting the fragrance release.  These include:

1. Number of reeds

  • Use fewer reeds for slower absorption & diffusion

  • Use more reeds for faster absorption & diffusion

  • Consider the size of the room when deciding on the number of reeds

  • Don’t flip reeds too often as this will result in the oil dispersing faster

2. External factors

  • Consider the airflow around your diffuser.  Fans, air conditioning, open windows, will result in the reeds soaking up the oil faster and may affect the diffusion rate of your fragrance oil.

  • High heat of direct sunlight, or close to a heater

These factors are sure to increase the absorption and diffusion rate due to faster evaporation.

Little extra

  • To get a renewed burst of fragrance flip your reeds to boost the diffusion process or gently swirl the bottle to help blend the ingredients

  • It is recommended to flip your reeds every two weeks or as desired

  • Natural reed sticks become totally saturated over time and the cells lose their ability to pull the scent however, you should not need to replace the reeds within the 4 - 6 month time frame should your diffuser be positioned and set up properly

  • Never dilute your oil with water or top up with another scent.  Oil and water do not mix, and another scent could result in undesirable scent combinations

  • Once your fragrance diffuser has reached its lifespan repurpose your bottle or get in touch with us and we will refill your diffuser with the scent on the label - subject to availability.

Resin Products

All resin art pieces have been created by Othene Cole and all timber work has been created by our partners, Diverse Design Works.

We use a high-quality, UV resistant, epoxy resin to ensure the vibrancy and colour in the artwork does not fade or turn yellow over time.

We use an epoxy resin that is heat resistant, meaning you can put a hot cup of coffee on your coasters and it will not damage the exterior.

Our epoxy resin is extremely hard, which reduces the risk of the resin breaking due to mishandling; our epoxy resin has the strength and durability of hard plastic.

To look after your resin homewares here are a few tips, so that your product looks new for longer and does not fade, lose its shine, or change colour.

  • Wipe boards with a damp cloth with water by hand only

  • Please do not use abrasive scourers.

  • Not suitable for the dishwasher or oven

  • Resin is not suitable for hot food, use cold food only.

  • Do not submerge wooden homewares in water and always allow to dry vertically

  • Wooden items will need an oil from time to time to ensure its longevity. You can use an oil suitable for food and hygiene, any cooking oil will work too!

  • Keep your resin products out of direct long exposure to sunlight. Even though the resin is UV stable and resistant it's not proof, yellowing and colour change can still occur if left in the sun for long periods of time.

  • If the resin finish has lost its lustre over time rub oil on the resin to bring back its brilliant shine.

  • If you find the resin has softened due to heat place in a cool spot and it will harden again.

We believe in mindful and eco-conscious production and practices. All our products are made by hand with love and care.  Our shaped timber boards have been crafted by hand by Diverse Design Works.

Our products are built to last and to be enjoyed over a lifetime.
